Montessori Infant Community
Infant Community Program (14 months – 3 years)
The first three years of life are a period of remarkable growth and development. Our Infant Community Program welcomes children from 14 months to 3 years, accompanied by a parent or caregiver, into a carefully prepared Montessori environment designed specifically to meet the needs of toddlers.
Children are encouraged to move, explore, communicate, and participate in everyday life at their own pace. The environment is organised around four key areas:
Practical Life:
Children develop independence, coordination, concentration, and confidence through meaningful everyday activities such as caring for themselves, preparing food, and caring for their environment.
Language:
A rich selection of language materials supports children as they develop vocabulary, communication, listening, and self-expression. Through books, picture and object-matching activities, storytelling, songs, and meaningful conversations, children are encouraged to discover and enjoy language.
Art and Music:
Creative experiences with art, music, rhythm, and movement encourage self-expression, imagination, sensory exploration, and joy in discovery.
Psychosensomotor:
Movement and sensory experiences support the development of body awareness, balance, coordination, fine and gross motor skills, and the child’s understanding of the world through their senses.
Through these experiences, children gradually develop focus, independence, problem-solving skills, patience, confidence, and empathy. They experience the joy of discovery, pride in their accomplishments, and a growing sense of belonging within a caring community.
Parents and caregivers are an important part of the experience. By observing their child in the Montessori environment, they gain valuable insights into their child’s abilities, interests, strengths, and potential, as well as ways to support their development and independence at home.
