In the Community

Children are involved in helping the community and raising money for different charities. The children run Bake Sales, Pyjama Days and various other fundraisers. There are some events that have now become a tradition and they benefit the children, the school and the wider community.

Montessori and Dementia

The 9-12 Class visit the Orchard Day Care Centre (The Alzheimer’s Society of Irelan) weekly. It is a mutually beneficial experience for all involved. These visits have attracted the attention of RTE Radio 1 and The Independent newspaper.

The TCHP was accompanied on one of its trips to The Orchard Day Care Centre by a journalist from The Independent newspaper – here is the article.

RTE Radio 1 also came along.

Every Hallowe’en we raise money at The Children’s House Primary for the Children’s Health Foundation.

The Senior Class children run the event and the whole community of TCHP children and parents, come together to take part in Hallowe’en games and have fun playing, feasting and knowing they are raising money for a good cause.

Every year the children avidly read to raise money for this great cause.

The children are very happy to take part in this national reading event in aid of the MS Society of Ireland. Over the years we have raised thousands and enjoyed the visits of MS Society ambassadors including Mary, Mark and his wonderful guide dog Grogan!

Book Fairs

The joy of reading is always nurtured and encouraged at The Children's House Primary.  Book Fairs help build up our library while keeping the joy of reading alive.

VDP Christmas Appeal

This year, the whole school contributed to the VDP food hamper appeal with the 9-12 Class involved in packing them. The 9-12 Class also made and sold handmade cards and books for the local VDP.
